01Do I need liability insurance for my business?
If you are in business, the risk of a lawsuit is real. A customer or visitor injured on your premises, damage arising from your operations or certain advertising injuries may trigger your business liability. Appropriate coverage can help pay eligible defence costs and damages, subject to your policy terms.
02Is my child covered while living away from home for school?
The property and personal liability of a student temporarily living away from the family home are often covered under the parents’ home policy. Limits, conditions and eligibility periods vary by insurer, so confirm the coverage with your broker before the student leaves.
03When I rent a car, do I need the rental company’s insurance?
You may already have coverage for a rented or borrowed vehicle if Q.E.F. 27 is included on your automobile policy. Deductibles, eligible vehicle types and territory can vary. Review your policy before declining the rental company’s coverage.
04How can I know whether my home insurance limit is sufficient?
During the quote process, your broker gathers building details to estimate reconstruction cost, which is different from market value. A professional appraisal may be requested for certain properties or when the building’s features warrant one.
These answers are general in nature. The coverage, exclusions, limits and deductibles in your policy take precedence.
